About the website

The main areas of the North Shore Hikers website are:

  • Home page with blog-style news articles, a login area and quick links to other pages
  • Schedule of upcoming club events
  • information on Joining the club
  • several pages of information About the NSH
  • Forum where members can share news, ideas and event information
  • Resources area with links to avalanche and weather information, and to other websites
  • Members area which allows a member to edit his/her profile and gives access to a list of members (only visible to logged-in members)
  • Help area with information about the club and using the web site

Each area can be accessed with the menu buttons at the top of any web page. (The bold text above is the menu button label.)

Anyone can view most of the information on the website, but only club members who have logged in (requires a user name and password) can:

  • write in the forum or subscribe to the forum
  • view detailed event schedule information
  • view the members section
  • view some detailed pages in the NSH Info section.

If you are a current club member without a website user name and password, click Register in the login area of the Home page and follow the directions.

JavaScript must be enabled in your web browser software to view this website (this is usually enabled by default).

Use up-to-date web browser software. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 (now 10 years old) may work but is not supported by this website. If you use an old version of Internet Explorer, update to version 9 (version 8 for Windows XP). Firefox is an excellent non-commercial alternative. Safari and Firefox work well on the Mac.
