Can I try out a hike before joining?
Yes, you are very welcome to try a hike before joining. From our Schedule Webpage at www.northshorehikers.org, pick an A hike and contact the Membership Secretary for the trip leader to contact for trip details.
What is an A, B or C hike?
We grade our hikes by duration, difficulty and elevation gain. An A hike is a beginner hike of no more than 5 hours hiking time, B hike 5 to 7 hours and C hike over 7 hours. Small a is up to 500 m gain, b is 500 m to 1000 m gain, etc. Refer to our Activities Webpage for detail definition.
Where do you meet and do you carpool?
We normally meet in east Vancouver or West Vancouver meeting places, both of which are accessible by public transit. There, we arrange carpools to the trailhead. Refer to our Activities Webpage for location detail.
